Becoming a Member
Membership begins with a relationship. First with Jesus Christ. Second with us. Attending our city celebrations on Sunday mornings is a great way to start that relationship. But it’s only when you begin to regularly attend a neighborhood church that you start to understand what Noble City is all about. Our hope is that you can find a neighborhood church near your home. Start attending and be as consistent as you can for several months.

PREPARE
At Noble City, we utilize a resource developed in-house titled The Call of Christ to help facilitate the membership process. If you haven’t already been baptized, this process will include preparing for your baptism as well. In this study, you will read through Acts chapter 2 as a means to consider God’s work in your heart and discern the next steps in your faith journey.
You will complete this study with a Noble City mentor, either during a Sunday morning equipping class or through other meetings. It will typically take 1-2 months to work through it together, and during this time you will have opportunities to share your progress in your neighborhood church community.
INTERVIEW
Once you have made yourself a regular at Noble City, settled into a neighborhood church, and completed The Call of Christ, the next step is to meet with an elder for an interview. The interview is a conversation where we begin to discern together not just what the church can do for you, but how you can begin to make a unique contribution to the church. The conversation takes about an hour. To set up an interview, contact us online or reach out to one of the elders directly.
During our time together, we will review outcomes from the The Call of Christ study to answer any questions that may have arisen through the process, and we will discuss the membership covenant. We would never want you to commit to something without understanding what is being offered to you and required of you. Commitment to the church is summarized in our covenant.
-
At Noble City Church, we believe that to be a member of God’s family entails four basic commitments:
To God: we surrender our lives to wholly to Christ to be His fully devoted follower.
To God’s Ways: We submit our lives to Christ’s teaching and to an intentional process of personal development.
To God’s People: We pledge to invest our lives to Christ’s family, to be active participants in the life of the church.
To God’s World: We devote our lives to Christ’s mission to fully participate in His eternal purpose for the world.
-
Our commitments are expressed in four structures:
Sunday Assembly: Weekly gatherings for equipping, inspiration, celebration, and prayer.
House Churches: Weekly gatherings as families in homes around simple meals where we share the Lord’s Supper, devote ourselves to Christ’s teachings, to prayer, and to loving our neighbors.
Mentoring: Relationships between older and younger for the purpose of soul care, dealing with strongholds, and personal growth in the teachings of Christ.
Training: Leadership development opportunities that identify, equip, and empower your gifts so that you can be deployed into ministry.
Once you have completed your interview, we will ask you to fill out a lightweight online form (the link is below). This step is a simple way for us to continue to develop our relationship, get to know you better, and collect some membership documentation for our records. Once this is submitted, the Board of Elders will review everything and vote on your candidacy for membership.
Note: Some have found it easiest to complete this form on their smartphone, as it allows for easily taking pictures of appropriate pages from The Call of Christ to attach to the application.
COMPLETE
After approval, all new members will have an opportunity to share their story with the church, and for new believers, will be baptized at the same time. You will publicly affirm the membership covenant and be welcomed into membership at Noble City!
